Kerry Bicycle Festival

My picture 'My Deerest Bicycle' has been chosen to be displayed at this years' Kerry Bicycle Festival Exhibition. Yay, I'm thrilled to be involved as I'm a lover of bikes and I just wish I could cycle more often. I cycled once over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and it was amazing!

The show is on from 6.30 pm, Friday, May 6th at Siamsa Tire, Tralee, Co Kerry. So if you're down that neck of the woods, drop in and have a good look, there will be lots of bike inspired visual art! xx

Actually I know everyone sees cows everywhere and they seem like big boring farm animals. But a year ago I went to Dublin Zoo and got to pet a cow and it was great. My hand looked tiny on her humungous neck and her eyes were huge with long black eyelashes. It was my favourite part of the zoo.

I don't know how many of you watched Katie Piper's 'My Beautiful Friends' on Channel 4 recently. The series finished yesterday. Katie is an acid attack victim and she has set up a charity to help people to live with burns and scars. She is so amazing and such an inspiration. I LOVE this!

I've recently come across the wonderful little hand made splendors of mixed media artist Joanne Murray. Her work usually takes on the form of small sculptural pieces that combine metal and fibre with text, drawing and photographs. I think her work is so sweet and cutesy but also edgy, love that combo! Her little monster brooches are my personal favourite (I have one swinging from my window). Check her out...

Bologna Flea Market

I was in Bologna last week and had a fantastic time. I was attending the Bologna Children's Book fair, as I'm such a big Children's book enthusiast and am trying to get my own kids book published too. Apart from all that the food was AMAZING! I ate (of course) pizza & pasta and they were like nothing I've ever tasted here! I also came across a little Flea Market bursting with fabulous vintage items, so I picked me up some little yummy things.
